Student's club session of young accountants was held on March 5, 2008 at the Kazakh Economic University named after T.Ryskulov. Members of student's club of the Caspian Public University and teachers from the Chair of «Accounting and audit» also participated at the session. HOCK Training company has organized a review seminar on IFRS for students and teachers within frameworks of USAID project on accounting reform and CIPA international program.
The session’s themes are determined by students themselves. HOCK presented to the group on the topic of international financial reporting system, and in particular its history, and the creation and development of IFRS.
Oksana Pastukhova, trainer of HOCK Training, spoke about history and the structure of IFRS in detail. “Economic situation in Kazakhstan and development of economic relations in market conditions require new approaches in drawing up of financial statements. This allows introducing the language of international business in Kazakhstan, which will lead to more respect of the Republic of Kazakhstan in global community”.
Kazakhstan plans to transfer a number of organizations to IFRS. Oksana Pastukhova noted that: “Introduction of IFRS in our country has begun since 1997 when KAS (Kazakhstan Accounting Standards) were adopted. KAS represent standards adapted for transitional economy, based on conventional accounting principles and methods. Now the principles of building of Kazakhstan accounting actually duplicate IFRS positions. However, a number of positions and principles, stated in KAS, are not yet applied in practice. In my opinion, new legislation on securities and joint-stock companies should speed up active interest of JSC financial statements users. Accordingly, this requires a certain level of IFRS knowledge from accountants”.
The 2nd Annual Forum on International Financial Reporting Standards took place on February 18 in the State Kremlin Palace. HOCK Training acted as a partner of the event.

Ekaterina talked about important nuances of corporate training for an organization, methods of resolving difficult situations that may arise in the course of training, and shared existing solutions, that have successfully been implemented by HOCK Training.
